i remember my grandfather teaching me to fish at around 6yr old, he had patience understanding and a want to pass on his knowledge, over the past 'cough' years sat on the rivers, ponds, lakes ect i have learnt much from fishermen young and old which made fishing a community, however over the past few years ive noticed a lack of ayups, how dos and friendly nods amongst fishermen. .. |

yesterday i got set up and cast in only to be told a few hours later that me and my pal had taken a spot some bloke used every week at ten am! i pointed out he should have gotten up at 4am like me then! and off he grumbled, few weeks ago i saw a experianced fisherman have quite a rant at two teenagers for asking for advice at birkwood fisheries! its a sad day when fishermen become snobs! |

It is certainly a sad day but is this not just a reflection of the society we now live in being brought to the bankside? |
