People always used to weight fish in carrier bags, just the thing is the weight of the fish may rip the bag. the actuall bag will cause no halm at all, its probably more fish friendly than the mest slings we use. Carrier bags were normally used for smaller fish and smaller scales. just wet them first. 20 years ago when i was taken fishing by my dad you would see people using carrier bags all the time. It was quicker and easier, less time consuming than unscrewing the landing net pan, and also far more accurate. |

I still use them Embarassed only for weighing the smaller species though, such as roach, perch and the like, much quicker as you dont need to zero the scales like you would have to with a wet sling, net every time, as Coops said just wet them first (they still weigh next to nothing) and jobs a good un, i wouldnt reccomend them for carp though Wink |

Does anyone remember the old brown paper carrier bags? Apart from carrying the shopping, I remember as a young lad in the mid 50's buying a homing pigeon from the Green Market for half a crown, it was supplied in a brown paper bag with string handles, as I walked back towards the bus stop the bottom fell out of the bag and the pigeon flew off, presumably back to its loft, I hadn't noticed that the bottom of the bag had been dipped in water to soften it, Just one of the many scams of those times Regards, Laurie __________________ Wholesale Carrier Bags |
